Sixteen

Sixteen

Is supposed to be a wonderful time in a young girls life,

but when I was sixteen my view was far from it

and their was no one to blame but me.

I chose to love, I chose to lie, and worse of all I chose to disappoint my mother.

At sixteen I got Regan and had a baby boy

although he was the sparkle in my eye,

I desperately wanted to turn back time and be a normal sixteen year old.

I was in love with someone who didn't love me back

I lied to myself thinking one day he might.

Now I am 19 trying to make a better life for me and my baby boy,

I may not want to turn back time as much now, but I remember being 16 and

now I leave that memory in the back of my mind to remind me why

I live to see tomorrow.
