Skeletons Dancing
Look at me now,
I prance across the pain.
When your eyes avoid mine,
I sway a different way.
When I see you
And you see me
In a light
That does not compliment or cover,
It is then we see
We are only
Skeletons
Dancing.
It is clear we are only,
The remains of a
Once strong tower.
The steel structure
That balances on its debris.
When I touch you
And you touch me
With only our raw selves
It is then we see
We are only
Skeletons
Dancing.
Gaze at us now,
As we trot upon open wounds.
When your mouth lips the words we
Dare not say,
Our feet shuffle to find the ground.
When I hear you,
And you hear me
In an uneasy silence.
It is then we see
We are only
Skeletons
Dancing.
I am sure now,
That we are the puppet
With broken
Strings.
Flailing like the broken
Winged bird
that use to fly.
When I feel you,
And you feel me
With no intentions or promises,
It is then we see
We are only
Skeletons
Dancing.
Behold this now,
I will break
Our synchronization.
When you are too afraid
I will halt this steady motion.
Allowing you,
And allowing me
Not without pain,
To see
We are only
Skeletons,
Dancing.
