Skin

La cascara

Bone house consumed by whispers

that graze the silence within

echoes of her soul

that say there is only

glamour in extroversion, boisterous

needle lips a living doll

Yarn woven fragments of melanin

La brujeria

Enchants her spell stricken mind

sun blisters the tattered skin

stained with brown soot

powdered fingers, white

drinking tainted waters

honey brushes the crevices

of her blood stained lips

Se ahoga

Submerged into oceans

full of her sins, drowns

Baptized into sanity

glimpses of light at

the dawn of Quisqueya

Intoxicating her corpse

with sea salt and bullets

Mujer morena

Beating rib cage hearts

sprouting violent melodies

Roots delving into the nothings

of her carcass, a seed

watered by hues of blue

the color of the passport

shredded in her throat

De aquí y de alla

Craving a note of

a Spanish tune where

she swallows two cultures

becomes the Dyckman essence

molded into ecstasy, drugged

eyes glimmering with stamped

shards of glass that dust

the bloody nails, ligaments

Como la flor

Chokes on the crunch of

the branches of April

rugged rock in acid rain

heat of her inhale, exhale

Slithers through her desert

hundred pounds of shed skin

stark naked and flame engulfed

Su verano llegará
