Skin Deep

Skin deep I'm blond,

so I must be dumb,

but my mind whirls faster than most.

Skin deep I wear skirts,

so I'm a crazy conservative,

but I'm quite liberal.

Skin deep I'm not skinny,

so I must not care,

but I care a little too much.

Skin deep I smile,

so I must be happy,

but I force the smile on.

Skin deep I say, "Yes!"

but I'm begging, "No!"

In a skin deep world that's what we see,

so why is that not remotely me?
