Skin Deep

Shade

Pigment

Color

Those are the things that desrcibe skin

Now a days being "dark" is frowned upon

You hear see all on tv and a social networks

#TEAMLIGHTSKIN #TEAMREDBONE #TEAMBROWNSKIN

what happen to the pride in oneself

its only skin deep

Picking at my flesh

couldnt stand the sight of my reflection

looking at my family im the darlest one of 5

its only skin deep

I am not defined by the pigment of my skin

I will rise

i will embrace what GOD gave me

i've came along way

and now i love me

because the pigment of my skin

doesnt define me
