This Skin, My Skin

Location

This skin has seen the light of the sun,

Felt the sting of the wind,

Been quenched by the water,

And cradled by the Earth.

It's been stretched and split,

Scratched and burned

but still,

It remains- soft, smooth, and beautiful-

Kissed by the sun,

This skin is black,

Caressed by gentle hands,

This skin is lovely,

Admired by many,

This skin is flawless.

This skin is mine.
