Skin as White as Snow

Mirror, Mirror, on the wall

Who's the fairest of them all?

I look upon its clear, clean slate

praying it will reveal my face

I can't remember the last time I slept

Or had a mother to whom I wept

The men I live with have decided to "let me stay"

Little do they know they've just become prey

Cleaning, cooking, the animals become my slaves

before their fates become entrées

The curtains in our cottage have always remained closed

For fear of the sunlight on my skin is exposed

My stepmother may curse and place me in a box

But quietly I lay, still, like a fox

A prince "rescues me" and soon we will wed,

the giddy with glee, I'm about to be fed

Lips red as blood, Hair black as night

Skin white as snow, teeth ready to bite.
