The Sky

The moon and a star share the home of the night,
The stars were once part of the sun,
but drifted apart as they live in two different homes,
Only to cross paths a few times a year.

The star is to the sun like a tulip without enough water,
She appreciates the moon and all the work put into to make her shine;
Sadly, without the sun the star feels incomplete.

The moon raised the star to be beautiful and strong,
as beautiful and strong as she may be she feels dull without the sight of the sun;
What she does not notice is that the sun is always behind her,
shining through to make her bright;
So, she resents the sun for leaving her to grow alone.

It's difficult for the star to realize how amazingly radiant she is as she lights up the sky,
for a butterfly cannot see it's own wings.
