The Sky is Off-Limits
you.
You are the window that severs me from the sky.
You pour black paint on my dreams smothering them in INK and FEAR.
You shove me into Your “reality” where THE SKY IS OFF-LIMITS.
You.
You trap me in a prison with walls made of WORRY and ANXIETY.
Twelve hours lit with FLORESCENT URGENCY
Twelve hours left black with ICE and NIGHTMARES lining the walls.
Your prison has no windows
because THE SKY IS OFF-LIMITS.
YOU.
ARE YOU NEVER SATISFIED?
I try to talk, but my words glance off Your armored mind.
You corner me with Your negativity.
And I feel like I cannot do anything to stop You.
So.
You will just continue to pull my kite down
You will paint it black
And You will lock it away.
Because to YOU
The Sky is Off-Limits.
And I’ll dream of better days.
