Skybound

Skybound

Float away, you can’t reach me.

High above your earth and sea.

Becoming one with the stars.

You’ll never know where we are.

Dancing naked across our wavy clouds.

Our home in the sky will never be found.

Disrobed we move in sweeping motions.

We are free within our ocean.

Clouds are an ocean technically speaking.

Evaporated water, some days leaking.

And they belong to us, those up high.

We are the broken ones, in the sky.

We are the pieces of this generation,

Who know love as a false creation.

False words strung together, three syllables.

“I love you,” words that overflow, spillable.

Spillable, like black and red ink.

Red ink running off our arms into the sink.

We are the ones, who often scream.

Silently, all alone, in our dreams.

On this Earth amongst the living,

We will never be free to sing.

We will only yell and make loud noise.

Never at peace, forever without poise.

We are the ones, cut and scarred deep.

We are the ones, who never sleep.
