Skydiver

Possible motives of every occasion

I’m not grounded anymore I’m lost in accusations

My screams of silence are masked

By your words and unnecessary tasks

You don’t make sense to me

Even so why’d you leave me

Everything I said to you

All you recall

I’d help you with everything

Catch you when you fall

Felt so small compared to the spark

Felt every word every last remark

Suppose I spent all my time rethinking

All my time re-linking

Never escaping deep thought

Feels like you’ve been shot

Close your eyes count sheep

Don’t leave till I fall asleep

Show me that you’re here

To have no fear

I’d draw a photo for my brother

Too young to fully understand his mother

I need a hero

You were my hero

Can you tell me where you are

Seems so far apart

Yet I can’t evade as if you’re here with me now

You were the pilot I was the passenger

We flew high over the calendar

A skydiver left me to fly

Just another lesson to live by

Suppose I spent all my time rethinking

All my time re-linking

Never escaping deep thought

Feels like you’ve been shot

Close your eyes count sheep

Don’t leave till I fall asleep

It’s hard to handle

Feel like the wick of a candle

Lit a fire meant to go out

Did we have to take this route

Should mend but not forget

Confusion at its best no regrets

New found loss of direction

More time for reflection

Cause and effect

Is it meant to redirect

Suppose I spent all my time rethinking

All my time re-linking

Never escaping deep thought

Feels like you’ve been shot

Close your eyes count sheep

Don’t leave till I fall asleep
