Slam For Hope

The sun, high in the sky. Warmth, beating down on my skin. Mile 26, the end is near. The Finish line, in sight. The First, explosion. My ears, ringing. The second, explosion. Tears, falling down. The Earth, ending. I rush, into the debris. There, I see. My family, blown from me. Blood, flowing all around. Body parts, all over the ground. Rushed, to the hospital. Critical, condition they say. Hope, I ask for. Life, I hope for.
