Slam Poetry about Growing Up

Every morning

6 am

Buzz Buzz

Goes my alarm clock

Coming to life every day

As I wish I could sleep in

"Just one more minute"

I always end up pushing my luck

Get up

Get ready

Go to school

Do homework

Go to sleep

Repeat

That is all life is

And I start to realize

That this is all that life will be

The mundane alarm tones

The dreaded awakening

The school bus

And my home
