Slaughter of the Handicap

Optimism seems most impossible when a train is coming my way, When a load is heavy on my back, When I can't seem to escape. Pounded with never ending deadlines I’m uncertain of the future Jumping into the unknown Will I fail? Will all my work be in vain? Worries fester and multiply. Doubt dooms my mind. Everything looks dark. There's no light, rest, or peace of mind. Fear is the only thing I find. Fear is my only comfort. Fear Shreds my dreams, Snuffs out my hope, Snips at my seams. An unruly child with tantrums and screams. But I can win My challenges can be faced and overcome, when the struggle within my mind is won. I take control, and the world is mine.
