The Slaughtered Herd

Where there is a light to shine
There is a shadow waiting behind
Just like a tainted Wonderland
Stealing away the dreams of children
And leaving night terrors in their wake
Suffocating hands take away
The carnival music and soft teddies
Replaced with white pills
And an endless slumber
For the decaying beauty
And so the cattle lines up
For the merciless slaughter
While the blame remains the same
Shield the truth from the finger
And instead take a false culprit
Like the path of a merry-go-round
That is shrouded in lies
Lies that have all
But become the truth
