Sleep Is
Sleep is a cat
that can't decide whether to come in
or to stay out.
Sleep is a spider
always hiding
in a forgotten corner
waiting to sneak out
and surprise you.
Sleep is a bird
flying high above
out of reach
sometimes touching down
but only for
a fleeting moment
then it's gone again.
Sleep is the forgotten fry
at the bottom of the bag
desperately searched for.
Sleep is wisps of fog
chased away by the sun.
Sleep is the distant horizon.
Sleep is gone.
