Sleep

Heart pounding

Thoughts racing

Sleep fights weakly

Eyes droop uselessly
Lay down futilely
Sleep won't win

Think, remember, regret
Spinning around my head
Sleep please come

Haunting my conscience
Darkness creeps in
Sleep must triumph

Pain and tears
Words race out
Sleep, save me!

My friend is gone
I feel only aching emptiness
Sleep, remember me?
