Sleep

as you're laying half cognizant, your mind expands into depths unknown

it reaches out into parts of your soul which have too long laid dormant

a gentle clarity softly falls and certain peace is finally had

so this is what calm feels like, oh this is how to be still

now your mind has stretched far enough to reach great stores of knowledge

strange wisdom begins to knit together your obscurity and brokenness

it will all be okay on the condition of forever holding onto this moment

rest now, rest and allow yourself to drift through this tranquility

you now have all your answers and all worries are drifting away

the hours pass unnoticed as you remain in this pure and blissful state

but...but now sharp blasts of reality rip through your consciousness

pain, exhaustion, and anxiety are pouring through the cracks

a faint memory of the night remains and you quickly attempt to go back

closing your eyes ever tighter, though its much too late

the answers and clarity have once again escaped

you are awake
