Sleep

A soft dark
Keeps me trapped,
Furled in silky tendrils
That hold close
The binding night.

Behind shutters
A mouse runs free,
Chased by
Trails of light.

Scamper, skitter!
Damaged thoughts
Now woven young and slight.

Colored sweetly
To destract
From the yaw
Of dawn's delight.
