Sleep a welcome escape

Eyes closing, muscles relaxing

music ends for the night.

My body feels heavy

and my mind is quiet.

The blanket falls across the sheets

curtain blocks that bright moon light.

I curl in a ball hiding my body from the cold,

humming sweet tunes that lull me to sleep.

Rem comes and rem goes as I fall deeper into my mind.

Dreams cloud my mind,

dreams of my fears and my life.

Time and time again night is my only escape.

Hiding in my mind is the only place that can bring me peace.

Happy to hide in my dreams

and sad that the new mornings light wakes me,

from my peaceful sleep.
