Sleeping Pills

 There’s a dark agenda

Lurking about

to keep us in the dark

to keep us asleep.

Quite content,

with their intent

To keep us from awakening.

To keep their kingdom

As false gods’ reign

To make us bow

As they vow

To keep us in the dark.

They seek to wreak

Chaos and havoc

Amongst the week

and the meek

As they seek

control

The time is now

To take back what is ours

See how we rise

From this disguise

Saying goodbye

To all the illusions and confusions

That keep us separated

It’s time to wake up

And take up

Peace and love

Not wage war.

Through healing and love

Forgiveness and peace

We can rise

And finally awake
