Sleepless Nights

Laying here in a bed where you’re not,

I feel lost without your heart to serenade me to sleep,

Your touch to cover my body in place of blankets,

Your smell overwhelms my whole being.

How do I come back to you?

How do I get you to appear?

How can I even think about sleeping without you here?

I am lost,

Lost in all nights that don’t have you in them.

Poems from the spaces between heartbreak and healing. I write to feel seen, to remember what it means to be human.
