A Slice of Life

To the average stranger,

A person is like a cake,

each with different flavor and surprise.

Their life story is not always theirs to bake

but with their, past they rise.

Every story rich and full of detail and although you make like some,

others will make your heart fall a little when the cake is finished and done.

But with the first bite of cake, don't judge.

For it might taste of day old fish or delectable fudge.

And with that slice don't assume,

That you know all about the other person because if so you're a loon.

Each person's cake is full of love and strife,

and remember we have but a slice of their life.
