slip away

Adult chatter

A distraction

Slip away

One two three

Closer to refuge

Four five six

Closer to safety

Seven eight nine

Closer to quiet mind

 Empty, so I sat

One two three

Closer to danger

Four five six

Closer to fear

Seven eight nine

Closer to confusion

Don’t scream

Be a good girl

Your mom would be angry

Nine eight seven

Heart racing

Six five four

Body trembling

Three two one

Silence

Frozen in time

Confusion

Nine eight seven

Wipe face

Six five four

Smile

Three two one

Everything is okay
