Slipping Through my Fingers

friends, family, “homes,” stripped away in too many instances, measured in the back of my mind as minor, but truly, it matters more than anything else, i’ve moved from state to state, region to region, across the country, and i’ve never felt permanent, just a small life in an insignificant world, my friends have only felt temporary, not true or a real thing, my family gone so far away, to likely never see in my home place again, my “homes” never feeling set in stone, so, really, my whole life has been letting go

Moved 21 times since the age of 5. Getting ready to move again. I get it.
