Slit

Sliding my fingers
Down the curve of my arm
What would it look like
Slashed with red?
Shiny dark blood
Dripping from my fingers
What would I feel?
Would I forget the pain
The screaming in my head
Would I lose the want
The will to live
Would it hurt too much
Would I want to stop
Or would I want more
There's one way to answer
The questions behind my eyes
Shiny and bright
Held tightly in my hand
Pressing deep into my skin
Pain
All thoughts vanishing
Screams are silenced
With the whimper from my lips
A small gasp
Dripping red.
