A sliver of light

A sliver of light,
I see it.
It sees me.
"I'm tired," I say.
"I'm your only hope," it replies.
It was so bright.
I wasn't used to it,
I was used to the cave of darkness.
I remember a time where the light was bright,
where did it go?
Darkness had closed in taking it away from me for the longest time,
making me sad.
I love the light.
The darkness is trying to shut it out,
again.
I wouldn't let that happen.
As the days passed, the light got brighter and bigger.
I see it!
I found my way!
I see the sun!
I really love the light!
I'm out!
