Slow her down

I knew exactly what I wanted from love. I knew precisely what I believed love was! I knew that love was red roses, blue violets, Moonlight strolls, and singing in the rain. Love would be easy, like breathing! We would never argue, because that only Happens when you fall out of love! Love would be smiling, and singing, and living, And loving, without any consequences. Just us. Love was tall, dark, and handsome. Love was sensitive, communicative, mysterious. Love was understanding and nonjudgmental. But then those days came. The days where love wasn't perfect. Love would be cold, cruel, and distant. Love would need space. Love couldn't be what I needed. Love couldn't say what I needed. Love couldn't act how I needed. Wasn't love supposed to be flawless? Here's what they didn't tell me about love. Love is only selectively blind. Love at first sight, is always corrected by A second look. Love is the unnatural triumph of Instinct over intelligence. Reaction over reality Longing over logic. Love is a series of undiplomatic negotiations. It's succumbing to gravity, trusting "Of course they will hold me" And then you wake up on your ass. When you see love, god, I hope That you don't hear wedding bells. If you do, go get your ears cleaned. The only sound that will remain will be the reminder that love, is hopelessly human.
