Slow Knowing Souls

There’s a song

That’s been playing

On repeat

Since the first moment

She started speaking

Something tugged

Something pulled

Maybe it was her smile

Or how her soul spoke

Then she called me

On my cell phone

And talked to me

Like we’ve..

Know each other..

For years

Do I know you

From a past life

When I saw you

My heart said

“Oh hi, where have

You been?”

You were familiar

The look in your eye

That smile

The way your body moves

It’s like

I’ve seen it before

I never used to

Believe in past lives

But suddenly

I can feel a million

Of them in my soul

When I look into your face

That I already know

How you body fits

Right against mine

How your kiss

Is something I’ll never

Get over regardless

However many years

Will pass

I truly know the meaning

“Right person,

Wrong time”

You came too soon

You came before us

You came before

Anything could truly

Happen

But we’ve gotten a taste

But darling,

I’m bleeding from

Experience that

Has me shivering and

Shaking hard

And my hand’s already

Holding onto another

That I can’t let go

But won’t hold onto

Forever

I want to take the time

I want to be friends

To know you that way

So then

You’re more familiar

Because I’m meeting you

Again

For the first time

And relearning you

For the first time

So we’ll take time

For one another

On a innocent level
