Slow Sad Song

Have you ever heard a song

That sounds like a long, slow, quiet drive home

Late in the evening

After a long day of noise

Have you ever heard a song

Like the sound of the rain dancing on the windows

One hot, lonely summer night

Long after everyone else has gone to bed

Have you ever heard a song

Like the final slow song

At the end of the dance, when everybody

Is winding down and ready to go home

And you sit by and watch all the couples dance

While you’ve got nobody to hold
