The Slow School

The many things I would say

Probably more like complain

The system's insane

I'm never sure what doing

Classes are confusing

This isn't amusing

I can get so frustrated

This school's overrated

I now loath this school

When it moves slower than stool

This school's not for me

It's for special needs

The gifted

The special

Now how am I labeled

By testing

By confessing

By depressing

I'm not normal?

By who's standards?

Just because I can't learn fast?

Read fast

Stay on track

I can't get past

The fact

That I'm "special"

Why'd you deceive me?

I thought this school was all that

But it's really just lazy and fat

Bloated and slow

How slow can this go

For a week or month or more

Teaching to the lowest common denominator

Such a change for me

I lost a community

To come here instead

Pretty dreams you imbed

In my own head

Say this school's better

Never

And I walk down these halls

My emotions stumble and falls

It's so suffocating

space is limitating

It's plain aggravating

My backpack won't fit

Into a locker as small as a zit

It's this meaningless pit

That ends too quick

Everyone is dressed the same

In uniforms super plain

Navy blue and Khaki tan

OH MAN

The system needs work

Before I go berserk

The pace of academics

Is a body that needs mechanics

These teachers will talk

Joke and mock

What the Fock?!

Cracking Jokes

Holy Smokes

Burn the place down

This circus of clowns

Take my education seriously please

I have dreams

I want to learn, by any means

Help me

Time moves so slow

I try to go with the flow

People say just get good grades

Get your diploma

Get out

But I yearn for more

And I will work until wore sore

This is high school

Not grade school

And I'm no mule

This slowness is cruel

I have attention Deficit Disorder

And this class is just torture

My whole world's out of order

Let me thrive

Let me stay alive

Let me survive

When I go to college

I love knowledge

It's a harsh world

This school is absurd

I want to exceed expectation\

And get a great education

I want to learn so bad

And what you give me is sad

What you give me isn't enough

It's powder

It's fluff

Not good stuff

To the entire school

You make it so hard

To go forward

I'm no retard, too

I love you, I do

I understand

But I'd like to say

You use my disability

To separate me

It's your irresponsibility

Shame
