Small Changes

Discipline

That's my father's favorite word

Education

That's my favorite word

I would say 'hard work', but that's two words

Perspective

Always dynamic

I've never truly understood that word

Promise: I made one to myself when I was 6

I made the promise to make a difference and to change the world

I saw the world differently then.

Now, at 17, I realize that promise is much harder than I thought it was

I have learned that I am, indeed, ignorant

No matter how much I learn, there will always be a world that I am unknown to

Knowledge is power

I have noticed the spark in childrens' eyes when they are introduced to new things

They never judge, only hungry for more

They see a world differently, a world full of wonder and love

When I was six, I thought our universe was magical

All children deserve to learn and to find a passion

The world can only change if it's children are capable of changing it

But to gain this power, a child needs an education

She must be taught how to grow a garden, for nature is what gives us beauty

He must be taught how to solve equations, for logic in real life situations

She must be taught how to speak their minds clearly, for understanding is the basis of helping those who live differently

He must be taught how to read books, for learning so one can thrive even further

She must be taught how to love, for greatness grows in those who love more than hate, who reach out to others, who learn to love the world, who learn to find inspiration, a reason to live.

I will fight for education

If one was educated in medicine, he can learn to find a cure for cancer

If one was educated in biology, she can sustain beauty in our mother earth

If one was educated in government, then he can learn to fight for what's right without war

If one was educated in english, then she can learn to articulate her words efficiently to share her wisdom with the world

I will fight for education

Knowledge is power and every student, if taught with love and open mindness, can change the world one problem at a time, and soon the world will change

The future belongs to the children

Every child in every country should taste the opportunities given to them with education

I fight to change how not every student receives an education.

If you're rich, your education is top notch

If you're poor, your education is not the best

If you live in a different country, you might not even receive an education

I will fight for education that is open to every child, everywhere

The world can only change, if the children have the power to change it.
