A Small Crying Voice

The small quiet voices that lie within our hearts, are the secrets that we hold. Secrets of love, pain and abandonment. Secrets that we’re too afraid to tell, Secrets that bind our heart with pain and resentment. Secrets that keep us from the ones we love most. When a secret is set free A piece of the world is healed The secrets that we try so hard to hide Are always written on our faces. We try so hard to be like a closed book When the entire world wants us to be an open book, Secrets are the world’s poison Which we are fed from childhood Secrets creep their way into the hearts of innocents They poison the minds of once pure children They break an already broken girl And turn the sweet bitter. Secrets I fear, will forever be the silent killer
