A small death

Over in an instant.

We spend most of life sleeping they say-

I think many people would be resistant.

Oh god sometimes we would spend the whole day.

It is the moments that follow.

The moment where you feel most hollow.

That is my closest to death.

When we draw our shared breath-

Then melancholy may follow.

It would be easier to stop.

To give in, to die

Allow my body to surely drop,

I could never kiss that small death goodbye.

For that moment when I Rythe,

In pain, in joy, but mostly in melancholy

For that is man's greatest folly.
