Small fish in a big pond

Citizens; just small fish.

America; just a pond.

We are just small fish in a big pond.

So small do we make a difference,

or is it the larger ones that make the significance?

The larger ones adjust to paradigm,

but will we citizens fall into the line?

New to this pond it is our choice,

if we will decide what we voice.

Without us kids the paradigm remains the same

with racism, hate, hunger, poverty that no big fish has ever seemed to tame.

It is up to us to make a difference,

but the world we live in is so rigorous.

We must not diverge,

but as small fish we must converge.

We must be large enough to ignite a spark,

it is time for us to step out of society's dark.

The burning of our hearts must blaze a new path

a route that does not end in a blood bath.

Something so small can change this pond,

but only if we small fish bond.

It is time we ignore the conformity and follow the better.

We adjust the paradigm and be trendsetters.

Making a difference once and for all,

as just a bunch of small fish we must stand tall.

We must stop making sparks and start making fire,

We must move out of the past because it is dire.

We might just be some small fish,

but we can change the world with a wish.

We can move forward from the past

and realize we must create a generation that lasts.
