Small Lines of Poesy

Corroboration Clarity Comfort

The universal human connection where

We are alone in a sea of humanity,

Screaming silently out to the ether.

Our pain is shared by others;

Our pain belongs to us alone.

What is this dichotomy?

We are like a cloud of bubbles

Fragile and beautiful

Bumping against each other

Merging and emerging

Then popping altogether.

Each season, each era, each boundary

So close in experience,

So far in empathy.

Why do the eons not teach us that

That eternity is within each individual.

Where is sense in senselessness?

Our senses are so overwhelmed by life and strife

That we are blind and deaf to others.

Where is the passion in compassion?

Words without heart have no meaning.

How do we connect

When we are so busy focusing on ourselves?

Our pain?

Our journey?

Learning the words of the Bard

Finding our lives in small lines of poesy

Cannot be taught, but only lived.
