Small Marks

As cheesy as it sounds, loving is something I strongly believe in. Not the love you have for your pet or your favorite teacher. No, I mean the love you feel when you see your best friend cry for the first time, or the love seen in the eyes of a new mother as she looks at her own mom, and finally understands what she met when she said, "I knew I would love you."

Love, understanding, that weird feeling in your heart when you finally get it. But instead of learning love, we teach hate. Our stubborn minds only think about how we feel or what we want. We don't think about each other's lives or what they might've gone through. We refuse to look deeper.

We need to learn again. We need to make our own mark on the world, even if it is as small as a fingerprint.Yet, no matter how small it is, if it was through loving, it doesn't matter.
