Small Table

Darkness normalized The drugs romanticized Here we sit Around this small Table Small room Big world Bonding over Trauma Friendships lost Lovers gained It all feels The same She says it's time The sting of the needle The pull of the blood The push of the dope The warmth that rushes My body No more pain No more darkness I'm in the moment My breaths draw deep I watch as she Sits in the corner She can't hit I see the emotion Take her over I see the pain As my hands shake Are we tourists Or has this become Home Truant
