The Smell of Change

Location

Can you see from my clothes,

all the things I know.

Adorned from head to toe in mediocrity.

I use to feel the need to exceed normality.

Adorned with rainbows and glitter,

feathers and lace;

In the most flamboyant of ways.

But people couldn't hear what I had to say.

They became awestruck on this entire phase.

And I began to change.

As i began to blend,

It seemed to mean

my voice.

Because no one will listen to a supposed crazy,

Standing here in my industrialized skinnies

and ombre sweater.

My words seem to impress.

No longer limited by the way that I dress.
