A Smile

The day is bright for a little while,
until the dusk arrives and has it's way.
Nothing to be seen but merely a smile,
the only warming light before the day.

That grin on a face so perfect so pure,
gives me hope every night I choose to live.
It does mask the darkness that's what it's for,
the front of grace He chose to re-give.

A beauty that illuminates the room.
The midnight Belle that will never turn back.
A flower that needs no sunlight to bloom,
Without it there is nothing but the black.

To the moon and the smile so divine,
Thanks to you my heart will forever shine.
