Smile

Life is not easy. It’s not what it seems

A duplicitous knoll, a monstrous breeze

Life gives us sorrow, it hands us grief

It laughs mockingly, with no relief

Full of ups and downs and twists and turns

It takes away our treasures and entities we earn

Oh life why do you mock us so?

Giving no love to the lowly humans below

Leaving some unsheltered, in cold or heat

Others starving without food to eat

War and death march upon some

Little children work without knowing fun

Hardly do many touch the hem of wealth

Most struggle while others bathe in pelf

And what do I ask, makes it all worth while?

Nothing more and nothing less, than a single smile.
