a smile
a little black girl
with her mother on the train
so excited in telling her mother
about her day in school
as she got off
she smiled at me
i smiled back
all it took was a smile
that smile brought life to my veins
igniting inspiration
to conquer the hardships
that lies in front of me
i thank that little black girl
for smiling at me
all it took was a smile
