A smile in February

This is a lecture

On intoxicating gesture

Enamored or bitter

Hardened or tender

Alone or with-her

I wish we were closer

If but one smile

Make it all worth while

Blue eyes and black hair

I could give you a smile each year

They take it where they must

They cope without trust

Pretend with cold rhythm

So many without them

A pretty woman

With a smile for a moment
