smiles
Smiles filled the world around me
From smirks to laughs it enveloped
Warmth coursed all throughout
Regardless of the cold society that disrupts
Simple was the way it was before
Today I stand in freezing terror
Devoid of the once felt heat in my hands
I wrap myself in a blanket of frozen demands
One cannot help but be melancholic
When looking back on what was once intrinsic
Returning to the present it seems
All that is left are broken dreams
All hope is not lost however
The smiles that were previously known may return
As long as hope is kept warm
The past serves as a beacon that charms
