Smoke

The familiar smell

that should haunt me so.

The familiar smell

that should taunt my nose.

The smell of a sickly being

or a packed pub.

One that lingers on your skin

for what feels like an eternity.

The smell brakes some hearts,

kills some hope

and reminds me

of a place I know too well.

That violent smell

that I cannot get enough of.

That scary smell

that wraps me

in a soft, cosy embrace,

making me feel the love

of the ones I lost because of it.
