Smoke

I watch as it drifts away

I take another puff

It streams out from my mouth

LIke a ghost it floats

then it dissipates

My lungs hurt

because I have breathed too hard

My mouth’s wet

because of my bloody nose

My head hurts

because of my black eye

I take another puff

because it is the only thing

that is keeping me from running
