Snapshot of a Dream

Crimson, black, and green such as

No mortal Green can be!

White

Sunlight

Radiant

As floods dewy eyes at daybreak ⸺

Do I dream, or do I wake?

All blazes radiant, ethereal

Green!

In the blink of an eye:

Glist’ning ebony steeds process with flowing, beribboned tails;

Warriors’ helmet plumes billow in the steppe gales,

While overhead a dragon banner rippling sails.

Solemn they float before my eyes

Upon a sea of Elysian Green.

Silk apparition,

Motionless, they rise one step together;

 Two breaths: they fall,

They freeze,

They fade,

And only Green remains…

All this in the blink of an eye!

Or so it seems, and I,

Dreaming,

Die.
