Snickerdoodles

His words were like cinnamon.

Each syllable sprinkled a lasting impression in my ear.

It didn’t make sense how his laughter filled me up

with cups of sugar or how his smile was the egg that held me together,

but he felt like home.

As we walked down the dock gazing at the dark ocean and twinkling sky

his hand caressed mine mixing all the feelings he instilled in me.

When he kissed me, I was submerged into an oven at 400 degrees.

His warmth overwhelmed me.

And all I could think about was having more.
