To Snooks from Tex


It's girls like you that give guys like me

something to fight for, and maybe die for.

Just want for this war to be over, see

and we'll be together forever more.

 

I just can't wait till I can make you mine, 

But I can't make wishes like that come true.  

Dear, your letters are like rays of sunshine

and all that I can do is dream of you.

 

I will look for you in my dreams tonight:

I want to hold you in my arms again

and to be able to kiss you goodnight-

believe me- I cannot wait until then!

 

I'm with you in spirit little darling,

Each day little more in love I'm falling.

<p>I recently found the love letters that my great grandfather wrote to my great grandmother during WWII. &nbsp;They recently passed away after being married for almost 75 years. &nbsp;They loved and cared for each other to the end. &nbsp;This poem was created from actual lines from those love letters.&nbsp;</p>
