Snow Filled Lungs

As I write this poem I am currently pulled over

in the parking lot of some abandoned beach

becuse snow was falling too damn fast for my eyes to keep up

All I can see as I'm sitting here is the snow

charging at my windshield, looking exactly like

the galaxies inside your eyes, the same eyes that hold so much love and compassion but also

hate and anger

I think a lot of eyes look that way, in fact, if the earth were a giant pair of eyes,

they would of course be greatly darker and more hate filled but every once in a while, they shine and twinkle

like the way yours used to when they looked at me.

I wish I saw more of that twinkle but I also wish I wasn't stuck in this goddamn parking lot

thinking about you
